Almost anyone who has the desire to succeed. However, the Housing and

I am a Real Estate Agent, Can I originate loans?
Active Real Estate Agents may be able to originate mortgage loans; it really
depends on the type of Mortgage Company you set up. As mentioned above, a HUD approved lender
will probably not let you originate mortgage loans. A non-HUD approved lender (one that cannot
originate FHA / VA loans) won't typically have these restrictions. Top Originators realizes that
the ability to accommodate government loans is critical to most Real Estate Agents' success. Even
though the agent cannot originate these loans, HUD places no restrictions on the spouse of a Real
Estate Agent. Professional Mortgage Lending Strategies can teach and train your spouse to effectively
structure and close these types of loans.
